150th Anniversary celebration
Tower Grove Park is turning 150! Tower Grove Park opened to the public on September 28, 1872.
Join us for several special events throughout 2022 that will celebrate our sesquicentennial.
Author Amanda E. Doyle will discuss her book about Tower Grove Park’s first 150 years, Tower Grove Park: Common Ground and Grateful Shade Since 1872.
September 28 - Sesquicentennial Gala
On the Park's 150th anniversary, join us for a gala celebration at the Piper Palm House plaza. The sesquicentennial celebration will include dinner, music and dancing. Ticket and sponsorship information coming soon.
October 23 - 150th Birthday Bash
This free celebration of Tower Grove Park’s 150th birthday will include a parade, music, food and fun! Join us at the Roman Pavilion between 11-4 for this festive celebration of Tower Grove Park.
In the final lecture of the year, Esley Hamilton will discuss Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr., Landscape Architect, Author, Conservationist (1822-1903).
This year is the bicentennial of the birth of Frederick Law Olmstead, the father of landscape architecture in America and the designer of New York's Central Park. Renowned local architectural historian Esley Hamilton will discuss the concepts and ultimate fate Olmsted's three landscape projects in St. Louis.
