Restoration of Chinese Pavilion at Tower Grove Park Completed
Tower Grove Park announces the completion of the restoration of the historic Chinese Pavilion near the South Road on the Park’s eastern side. The $18,827 restoration was supported with funds from the Friends of Tower Grove Park membership group, raised at their September 2015 Martinis at the Mansion event. The entire structure was repainted with a total of five different colors, including a new coat of green paint and sealer for the roof, and a polishing of the metal dragons that adorn the pagoda-like corners. The final stage of the restoration will be undertaken this fall when new turf surrounding the pavilion will be installed.
Tower Grove Park invites visitors to enjoy the Chinese Pavilion during their next visit. The Pavilion may be reserved for picnics or other functions by calling (314) 771-4408 or email tgpark@towergrovepark.org.
