History of Musical Theater Concert

Come for the History of Musical Theater "Best of Broadway" program with all of your favorite hits from your favorite shows. Featuring Charles Glenn (Blues Anthem Singer, Grammy Winner) and Patricia Scanlon (St. Louis favorite soprano and singer for the 1999 Papal visit). St. Louis Theater Musicians' Orchestra is made up of 20 musicians, including two violins, one viola, one cello, one flute, one oboe, one clarinet/alto sax, one clarinet/tenor sax, one bass clarinet/baritone sax, two trumpets, one french horn, two trombones, one keyboard, one bass, one drummer, two vocalist and a conductor. The singers have won many awards including a Grammy and have sung for the Papal visit in 1999.

To make the event welcoming and safe for everyone, please note the following safety protocol:

  • Guests are asked to stay home if they or anyone in their family is sick.

  • Guests over the age of 9 are asked to wear a mask at the event.

  • Guests are asked to stay 6-ft. away from one another.

  • Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic blanket to enjoy the performance and to please keep to proper spacing.

  • There will be one gate to enter and one gate to exit. There will be signage placed to clearly indicate these entry and exit points.

  • The entry and exit gates will be monitored by Tower Grove Park staff/volunteers. Only 75 spots or 150 people (infants included) will be allowed in the Stupp Garden area.

  • The Stupp Center building will not be open. In the case of restroom use, participants may walk to the northeast corner comfort station.
