Debbie Monterrey has been working in radio since her student days at Truman State University (Kirksville, MO). Since then, her career has taken her to Greenville, South Carolina; Madison, Wisconsin; and Columbus, Ohio. In between she served as Press Secretary to Wisconsin Governor Scott McCallum before arriving in St. Louis in 2003 where she’s been a staple of morning radio at KMOX ever since. Debbie has been awarded two national Edward R. Murrow Awards for best newscast; five regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for best feature, hard news and sports feature reporting; two Missouri Broadcasting Awards; and a National Scene Award from SAG-AFTRA for her work highlighting diversity. She was named a 2022 Media Person of the Year by the St. Louis Press Club. Debbie is proud to live and work in St. Louis City and a tireless cheerleader for the region. She is president of the Tower Grove Park Members Council and serves on the Missouri Historical Society Board of Trustees.
