Hidden history abounds throughout Tower Grove Park and the Tower Grove South neighborhood. On this tour we’ll step back in time and reveal where common fields and plantations once dotted the area. We’ll also trace the neighborhood’s history from being a coal-mine hub to a streetcar suburb, and explain how it evolved from prosperity to decline and back again. Join us as we learn about the people, events, and social forces that have shaped one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods.
