Support Tower Grove Park and the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market bounce back from a summer storm

In the early hours of Saturday, July 10, more than 20 mature trees in Tower Grove Park were toppled and nearly 90 more trees sustained significant damage from an intense summer storm. The worst of the damage was located in the west end of the Park between Tower Grove Avenue and Kingshighway, but losses were sustained in all 289 acres. Clean-up work, including removing hanging limbs and clearing obstructed thoroughfares started immediately Saturday morning and will continue throughout July. Fortunately we have a skilled Operations staff that will work until the job is done!

Because the damage presented a safety risk to anyone in and traversing the Park, we quickly collaborated with our partners at Tower Grove Farmers' Market in making a hard decision to shut down the market just as the farmers were setting up. The storm may not have happened on the farmers’ fields but it did just as much damage to their incomes.

To support the Park's recovery efforts and offset some of the financial hardship market vendors endured, the Park is holding a special fund-raising drive throughout July, “Summer Storm Bounce Back.”

With your generous donation of $50 or more to the Park by July 31, you will receive a $10 token to the Farmers’ Market to spend at an upcoming Tuesday or Saturday edition of the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market.

Support the Park AND market vendors by making a donation today.
