Prairie Restoration is in Progress at the Nee Kee Nee

The headwaters at Nee Kee Nee have been re-seeded with native seeds that were both collected and purchased specifically for this project. These seeds are indigenous to the area and will contribute to a more diverse planting once they become established.

Native seeds are planted during the winter, and erosion control measures are applied on top to secure them in place. The ultimate objective is to have the site fully established within two to three years. Ropes have been installed to discourage foot traffic through the project and protect the newly seeded area.

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
