Join us at the Stupp Center for the opening lecture of the 2022 Lecture Series. Andy Hahn will present “Architectural Landmarks in Henry Shaw's St. Louis.”
The lecture will highlight the stories of six landmark public buildings—The Four Courts, Merchant’s Exchange, Music and Exposition Hall, the city’s first High School, the original Washington University campus, and finally the first St. Louis Art Museum. These buildings were all built within 30 years of each other (1854-1884) and reflect the dynamism of St. Louis in the mid-19th century. None of them are still standing.
